Strawberry Milkshake – The perfect classic strawberry milkshake recipe made with just 4 simple ingredients. So delicious!
Strawberry milkshakes have long been a go-to thing to get from ice cream shops for me. Something about drinking my ice cream is way better in my opinion and as a big fan of strawberries, the strawberry milkshake was perfect! I started making my own strawberry milkshakes at home a few months back and honestly, I have been spending a lot less money at ice cream shops because wow, these milkshakes are so easy and delicious! Now I think that the key is macerating you strawberries ahead of time which is basically a fancy way of saying that you soak them in sugar. It helps bring the flavor out of them and really pop in the drink. This step adds on a bit of extra time so you could skip it if you want a milkshake right now but if you have the time, give it a go!
Now this recipe makes two servings so you can always half it if you are just making it for yourself or even double it if you want to make it for more folks. I like to serve mine topped with a bit of homemade whipped cream and sprinkles.
Common Questions About Making a Strawberry Milkshake
What is a strawberry milkshake?
A strawberry milkshake is a simple blended drink made with strawberries, vanilla ice cream, milk, and sugar.
What is the difference between a strawberry milkshake and a strawberry malt?
A strawberry malt is essentially the same as a strawberry milkshake but with the addition of malted milk powder.
Do I have to let the strawberries macerate?
While it is not necessary, it does help bring out the flavor of the strawberries. I found that it was especially helpful on strawberries that I got out of season that weren’t quite as flavorful.

There are so many options! Some of my favorite milkshakes include –
- Vanilla Milkshake
- Raspberry Milkshake
