Lavender Simple Syrup – Homemade lavender syrup is perfect to put in coffee and other drinks! Made with just 3 simple ingredients in just 7 minutes.
Lavender Simple Syrup
I am so excited to finally get my lavender simple syrup recipe up here! After being inspired by my favorite local coffeeshops honeybee latte last year, I was on the mission to try to make it at home. The one thing I needed to figure out was how to get lavender flavoring into my latte and I knew that a simple syrup would be perfect. Now for those who don’t know, simple syrup is basically a syrup with flavoring in it that helps give drinks flavors that would otherwise be difficult to add. They are super common in cocktails and coffee drinks.
For this simple syrup recipe, I used water, sugar, and dried culinary lavender. I specify dried culinary lavender as it is made for cooking with, it is typically in the seasoning and herb department at grocery stores or you can easily order it online. You basically boil these ingredients together and then strain out the lavender, that’s it. Now you may end up with a bit of particulate left in it fromthe lavender buds which didn’t really bother me but you can always run it through a cheesecloth if you want to really have nothing left in it.
I was super happy with the resulting simple syrup in my very own lavender honey latte (pictured below). It was just the right amount of lavender flavor!
