Kentucky Lemonade – A delicious cocktail made with fresh lemon juice, Kentucky bourbon, mint simple syrup, and ginger ale. The perfect cocktail for summer!
Kentucky Lemonade
Bourbon is so great for cocktails and cooking. After making a Kentucky mule a few weeks ago, I wanted to make some more recipes with my bottle of bourbon and I just knew that a Kentucky lemonade had to be next on the list. This simple cocktail seriously tastes like summer in a glass and it is made with just 4 simple ingredients (plus garnish) – Kentucky bourbon, fresh lemon juice, ginger ale, and mint simple syrup.
This drink has a bit of zing, it’s bubbly, and it’s boozy which make it basically perfect. Now it may be a strange choice to go with mint simple syrup in it but I like the consistency of flavor that the simple syrup gives it and you aren’t trying to fish out any soggy mint leaves right before serving. Give it a try, it’s really good!
Now you can totally make this drink ahead of time and just add ice in right before serving. I can’t wait to make it for some summer parties this year, I know it’s going to be a huge hit!

Kentucky lemonade is a bright cocktail made with fresh lemon juice, mint simple syrup, bourbon, and ginger ale.
Do I have to use homemade lemonade?
Nope! You can totally substitute in 2 cups pre-made lemonade. I suggest more than there would be of homemade lemonade because it won’t be quite as strong. Make sure to taste before serving and adjust as needed.
What else can I add to Kentucky lemonade?
I love serving Kentucky lemonade with wedges or wheels of lemon along with sprigs of fresh mint to give it a pop of color and flavor.
