Peppermint White Hot Chocolate
After our peppermint hot chocolate recipe being a fan favorite this year, I knew that I had to share the white chocolate version for all of those white hot chocolate fans out there! Now this recipe is super easy to make and serves one to two so you can always double or triple it. Additionally, you can also up the amount of peppermint simple syrup in the recipe if you want even more flavor but I generally go for a more subtle flavor when I make it. Totally up to you!

What is peppermint simple syrup?
Peppermint simple syrup is a sugar syrup made with water, granulated sugar, and peppermint extract which adds flavor to a cocktail or drink while also adding a bit of sweetness. You can buy it at the store (usually the company is Torani) or you can make it home in less than 5 minutes by clicking HERE for the recipe. Alternatively, you can use peppermint schnapps in the recipe instead for a boozy spin.
What is white hot chocolate made of?
White hot chocolate is so easy to make! My version is made from milk, white chocolate chips, and vanilla extract. The biggest difference between versions is whether people use milk, half-and-half, or heavy whipping cream as the liquid. I prefer milk because I think the white chocolate melted down thickens the drink up enough but you can really use any of those options or a mix of them.
Is white chocolate really chocolate?
White chocolate contains all of the same ingredients except for cocoa so while it is similar in texture, it tastes nothing like chocolate.

Peppermint White Hot Chocolate

Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon peppermint syrup
- Whipped cream
- Candy cane, sprinkles, etc (garnish)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, white chocolate chips, and peppermint syrup. Cook until chocolate has fully melted.
- Divide white hot chocolate between two mugs and top with whipped cream and a candy cane. Serve immediately.
