I will be the first to admit that I like white hot chocolate more than hot chocolate. While both are absolutely delicious, something about a sweet and creamy white hot chocolate is an absolute dream for me. Another great thing about them is how much you can really customize it to take on a huge variety of different flavors!
For this version of the white hot chocolate, I wanted to keep it simple so that it would taste just like the white hot chocolates I used to get from Starbucks as a kid and I think it turned out pretty spot on! With a little whipped cream on top, this is the perfect drink to enjoy during those chilly winter months.

White hot chocolate is so easy to make! My version is made from milk, white chocolate chips, and vanilla extract. The biggest difference between versions is whether people use milk, half-and-half, or heavy whipping cream as the liquid. I prefer milk because I think the white chocolate melted down thickens the drink up enough but you can really use any of those options or a mix of them.
Is white chocolate really chocolate?
