What’s not to love about a hot chocolate during the winter? It’s creamy, chocolate-y, and oh so warm! Whether it is an toasted white hot chocolate, hot chocolate dip, or a salted caramel white hot chocolate, it’s always good!

Now for this hot chocolate recipe, I wanted to do a version of the seasonal favorite from Starbucks – the peppermint hot chocolate.  Now this is a simple recipe that tastes like the Christmas season in a mug with just a few ingredients.

The only thing that you many not already have in your pantry are peppermint syrup.  These are both available either on amazon or in most major grocery chains from companies such as Torani in the coffee section of the store OR you can make it at home by clicking HERE to get the recipe!

Additionally, I suggest serving this hot chocolate with whipped cream on top along with either shaved chocolate, sprinkles, chocolate sauce, or crushed peppermint on top.  While it won’t add too much to the flavor, it adds a fun pop of color to the top which helps make it feel extra special and festive.

This recipe can also be made vegan with just a few simple substitutions! Use a dairy-free milk such as soy or almond instead of both the milk and heavy whipping cream and use a dairy-free whipped topping instead of whipped cream such as whipped coconut milk or any pre-made option.

You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something that I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I'll try to get the hang of it!
