Vanilla Bean Frappuccino (Starbucks Copycat)

Back again with another Starbucks copycat recipe! This time, I decided to make a classic – the vanilla bean frappuccino.  Now this recipe was a favorite of mine when I was little and I didn’t like coffee.  It has a cream base that is hard not to love!

Now for this copycat version, you need just 3 ingredients – vanilla bean ice cream, milk, and ice.  it’s so easy to make and really tastes the same! Something else I love about making Starbucks copycat recipes is how cost-efficient they are.  You can make quite a few of these drinks for the price of just one from the store!

Now I do suggest using vanilla bean ice cream instead of french vanilla or any other variety of ice cream.  It has the closest flavor to the original frappuccino.  Additionally, serving it with whipped cream on top really makes it complete so don’t skip on that! You can add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste if you want a stronger vanilla flavor but I thought just the ice cream was more than enough.

Common questions about making a vanilla bean frappuccino

Do vanilla bean frappuccinos have caffeine in them?

No, since vanilla bean frappuccinos have a cream base instead of a coffee base, there is no caffeine in them.

What does a vanilla bean frappuccino taste like?

A vanilla bean frappuccino tastes very similar to a vanilla milkshake with a very light and creamy vanilla flavor but a little less sweet.

How do you make a homemade vanilla bean frappuccino?

To make a homemade vanilla bean frappuccino, you combine ice, milk, and ice cream in a blender, blending until well combined.

How do you make a vanilla bean frappuccino without ice cream?

Instead of ice cream, you can use 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract), and 1 cup of extra ice in the recipe.

Most varieties of bagged green tea you find in the grocery store will not yield high-quality tea. The small bags constrict the tea leaves during steeping, and they usually contain lower-quality, machine-processed tea leaves.

The primary tasting notes of green tea leaves are savory, spicy, fruity, floral, and vegetal. Specific strains of tea can range from sweet, floral, and fruity, to vegetal and smoky, earthy or nutty.
