Apple Cider Moscow Mule
Moscow mules have been my drink of choice recently and I have been trying so many different variations! From moscow mule mocktails to peach moscow mules, they have all been great but the one that just screams fall is this apple cider moscow mule. After having some extra apple cider leftover from making caramel apple cider coladas, I was trying to figure out what to do with it and then suddenly, I had an epiphany – I needed to use it in a moscow mule! I love ginger and apple together so it seemed like the perfect fit. I was not disappointed by this drink, it was amazing!
Common Questions About Making an Apple Cider Moscow Mule
Are moscow mules made with alcoholic ginger beer?
It depends on what you can find at the store/preference. Either non-alcoholic or alcoholic ginger beer will taste great!
Why does a moscow mule need a copper cup?
A copper cup is a great insulator which really retains how cold the drink is. While it is not necessary, it also looks really cool and makes it obvious which drink you are serving.
Why is it called a moscow mule?
The name “moscow mule” comes from the traditional addition of vodka to the alcoholic version and it’s association with Russia.
Should I use hard apple cider?
Again, totally up to your preference. I just non-alcoholic apple cider from the grocery store just because that’s what I prefer.
Can this recipe be made non-alcoholic?
Yes! Just substitute in 1/4 cup club soda for the vodka and use non-alcoholic ginger beer and apple cider. It will still taste great!
