Hot Chocolate Dip

With Christmas season in full swing, it’s time for a hot chocolate recipe! Now I have had a lot of different hot chocolate recipes on Mildly Meandering such as the red velvet hot chocolate, hot chocolate cake, and the Italian hot chocolate but so far, Snacks and Sips didn’t have any hot chocolate recipes… until now!

This hot chocolate dip is heavenly! The base of the dip is a brownie batter dip that is combined with marshmallow fluff and mini marshmallows.  To top it all off, there are more mini marshmallows and chocolate chips on top (and some whipped cream, but that is totally optional).  It’s just a few ingredients and it can be made ahead of time for Holiday parties.

Some of my favorite things to serve with this dip are graham crackers, cookies, bigger marshmallows, pretzels (it’s the perfect combination of sweet and salty!), and nilla wafers.  If you have any other suggestions for things to serve with this dip, let me know in the comments!

Something that I found that was perfect for this recipe was a bag of the really tiny marshmallows that are usually in hot chocolate packets.  Those are great in this recipe because they are so tiny but if you can’t find them, don’t worry! Regular mini marshmallows will be fine.

If there is any leftover dip, just put it in a container in the fridge.  It saves really well, it just may be a little firm when you take it out.  In that case, just let it sit out for a few minutes before serving.

Ingredients

• 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
• 1 box brownie mix
• 8 ounces whipped topping or whipped cream
• 4 ounces marshmallow fluff
• 1 cup mini marshmallows
• 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese and brownie mix. Add in whipped topping, whipped topping, and half of the mini marshmallows and mix until combined.
2. Transfer to a serving bowl and top with the remaining mini marshmallows and mini chocolate chips. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
