Pink Drink {Starbucks Copycat}

I did it! I finally made the perfect pink drink recipe! After ordering the secret menu drink (that eventually became a part of the main menu) for years, I finally decided that I needed to figure out how to make it at home so I set to work trying to make it at home.  With a little trial and error, I finally found the perfect recipe that tastes just as amazing as the original.

To make this drink, you will have to make sure that you get the Tazo passion tea (or the alternatives listed below) as it gives the drink most of it’s flavor and color.  Additionally, you will need white grape juice, strawberries, sugar (optional), water, and unsweetened coconut milk.

Common Questions About Making a Pink Drink

What is the pink drink?

Pink drink is an iced drink made by brewing passion herbal tea with hot water and sugar before combining it with white grape juice, unsweetened coconut milk, and sliced strawberries.

Can I use anything else instead of the tea?

You can substitute the tea bag, water, and sugar for 1/4 cup of passion herbal tea concentrate mixed with 1/4 cup water or 1 Starbucks VIA Very Berry Hibiscus Instant Refresher packet dissolved in 1/2 cup water.

Can I make this drink warm?

You definitely could but I’m not sure that it would be too good!

Can I make this drink frozen?

Yes! Throw all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.  I would suggest also adding a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream (or a non-dairy alternative) in to make it nice and creamy.

How many servings does this make?

This recipe makes 1 serving so just double or triple it if you are making it for more people.

Please note that this recipe is inspired by the drink from Starbucks and thus may not be a perfect copy. It has been lovingly created at home by a Starbucks fan for others who love the drink and want to make a one at home using simple ingredients.

Prep Time 25 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Passion Herbal tea bag (I used Tazo brand)
  • 1/2 cup hot water (about 115-120F)
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup white grape juice
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup sliced strawberries

Instructions

  1. Place the tea bag, hot water, and sugar in a small bowl or mug and stir. Set it aside and allow it to steep for 20 minutes.
  2. Remove the tea bag (you can squeeze out any liquid to ensure you get all of the flavor from the tea) and stir to ensure all of the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Fill a glass with ice and add the white grape juice.
  4. Top with tea concentrate and stir.
  5. Add the coconut milk and then top with sliced strawberries.
  6. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

* You can make the tea concentrate (steps 1 and 2) in advance and keep them in the fridge for up to three days. Then just continue with the recipe whenever you're ready for the drink.
