Eggless Eggnog – A fun spin on classic eggnog! This egg-free nog is just as tasty as classic eggnog and so easy to make!
Did you know that you can make eggnog without eggs? Well, it may not technically be eggnog but it is pretty dang similar in taste and texture! This is such a great drink for those who may not like eggs or for when you don’t have any eggs to make homemade eggnog. All you need is 4 ingredients – milk, instant vanilla pudding, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Yup, that’s it.
Now it may sound a bit crazy to use pudding in a drink but it really just gives it flavor and a bit of thickness. You can thin it out a bit by adding extra milk if you think it is too thick. I love serving this drink with a bit of caramel sauce in my glass, a bit of whipped cream on top, and a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon. So good!
Common Questions About Making Eggless Eggnog
Is eggless eggnog be vegan?
Yes, I believe this recipe can be made vegan by using a vegan pudding mix and non-dairy milk. It might change the taste a bit as a non-dairy milk such as oat milk or almond milk can bring a bit of flavor but overall, it should work. That being said, I have not tested it yet.
Can I use egg-free eggnog is recipes that call for eggnog?
Yes! I use this eggless eggnog in everything I use regular eggnog in such as –
Doess eggless eggnog taste like eggnog?
I would say it is pretty close! The texture is similar and the flavor is real similar.
Should I use french vanilla or vanilla pudding?
It depends what you prefer. I think that french vanilla gives it a closer look to eggnog as it is a bit more yellow but traditional vanilla pudding works great too. Personally, I’ve had it with both and I like the french vanilla a bit more but the pictures have vanilla as that’s what was available at the store.
Can I add alcohol?
You sure can! I suggest cognac, spiced rum, or bourbon. Add to taste.
