Creamy Churro Dip
As summer is quickly slipping away, I’m eager to find as many uses as possible for great fruit. We’re still getting decent amounts of nice strawberries, blueberries, and watermelon in the stores and I’m loving it.
Soon enough it will turn to all things apple and pumpkin, which is completely fine by me. But I do find myself missing other fruity flavors in the colder months. This brings me to this tasty Creamy Churro Dip! I had churro flavors on the brain ever since I had some churros at a new taqueria in our town. They were super good!
Ever since then I’ve been craving that delicious cinnamon sugar combination! And with fresh fruit still being readily available, I figured a dip was in order.
Creamy Churro Dip gives you that lovely cinnamon sugar flavor in a creamy base. It is perfect for parties, the holiday season and hey if you are anything like me…a Wednesday afternoon in August. No judgment zone on this site!
Serve this delicious treat with fresh fruit, graham crackers, or sugar cookies. I used flavorful store-bought gingersnap cookies, they give a punch of ginger which compliments the cinnamon sugar combo in the dip. Delish!
What is a Churro anyway?
A sweet snack consisting of a strip of fried dough dusted with sugar or cinnamon. I tried one for the first time on a visit to Mexico. My kids have tried them from the snack window at Costco…yeah you know they are good if Costco sells them. PS…I think they only cost $1 at Costco! SCORE!!!
What do you need to make Creamy Churro Dip?
- Cinnamon
- Sugar
- Heavy Whipping Cream
- Vanilla Extract
- Cream cheese
- Powdered sugar
Some tips for making Creamy Churro Dip:
- Use a chilled bowl and beaters when making the whipped cream.
- If serving later in the day, wait until just prior to serving to add cinnamon-sugar mixture on top. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- If desired, stir in cinnamon-sugar mixture. I added 1/2 of the dip to a bowl, then 1/2 of the cinnamon-sugar mixture and repeated both layers.
- If you prefer to mix the cinnamon sugar mix completely into the dip, that works too!
- Refrigerate leftovers.
