Blood Orange Margarita

It’s almost margarita season! As soon as it gets warm out, I start getting a hankering for a great margarita to enjoy outside.  When I saw a few blood oranges at the grocery store the other day, I bought all that they had and brought them home to try turning them into a blood orange margarita! I thought the flavor would be great and that the color would make it such a pretty drink.

Now to make a blood orange margarita, you need just three main ingredients – blood oranges, tequila, and simple syrup.  The simple syrup helps sweeten the drink up without impacting the flavor and you can either make it in about 5 minutes at home by clicking HERE for the recipe or you can buy it at most grocery stores for a few dollars.  I like serving these margaritas with a slice of blood orange on the rim and lining the rim with salt.  It makes for such a beautiful and festive drink!

This recipe makes one serving but you can just scale it up if you want to make this recipe for more people.
