Bailey’s Hot Chocolate – Take your hot chocolate to the next level by adding Bailey’s – an Irish cream liqueur! Made with just 4 simple ingredients in 10 minutes!
Bailey’s Hot Chocolate
With winter being in full swing here in the midwest, hot drinks are my go-to way to get warm. With hot chocolate being a staple at my house, I have been looking for exciting ways to make it even more exciting and one of my favorite ways that I came up with was to turn it into a Bailey’s hot chocolate. What I love about this is not only does it taste great but it also could be a fun and festive drink for St. Patrick’s day! Now I know, I’m getting a bit ahead of myself since Christmas still hasn’t happened but hey, I’m just looking for more excuses to remake this drink!
Now this recipe makes enough for one serving but you can always double or even triple it if you are making it for more people, they are sure to love it too! If you are making for an even bigger group, you could use my slow cooker hot chocolate recipe and just add Bailey’s to taste right before serving.
Common Questions About Making Bailey’s Hot Chocolate
What is Bailey’s?
Bailey’s is a Irish cream liqueur made from whiskey, cream, and cocoa. It is a great addition to a wide range of drinks from hot chocolate to frappuccinos.
Can I use white chocolate instead?
Of course! Directly substitute in white chocolate for the regular chocolate.
What can I top this drink with?
I usually top Bailey’s hot chocolate with homemade whipped cream and drizzle of either caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, or white chocolate sauce but it’s totally up to you what you want on top.
How can I make hot chocolate even better?
Some easy ways to make your hot chocolate to the next level include substituting in heavy whipping cream or half-and-half for some of the milk to make it even creamier or upgrading your chocolate chips to nicer ones like ghirardelli.
