Amaretto Hot Chocolate – Take your hot chocolate to the next level by adding amaretto! Made with just 4 simple ingredients in 10 minutes.
Amaretto Hot Chocolate
This drink all came about back when I was making my slow cooker hot chocolate a few weeks back. I was looking in our alcohol cabinet to see what I could add to it to make it even more exciting when I saw a bottle without a label in the back corner. When I pulled it out, I remembered that it was a bottle of homemade amaretto and I got so excited. Amaretto is a favorite liqueur of mine and I just knew that it would taste AMAZING in a hot chocolate! What’s not to love about combining the flavors of a hot chocolate and almonds?! I’ve tried it in both a normal hot chocolate and a white hot chocolate and it was amazing in both!

I usually top amaretto hot chocolate with homemade whipped cream, almonds, and salted caramel sauce but it’s totally up to you what you want on top.
How can I make hot chocolate even better?
Some easy ways to make your hot chocolate to the next level include substituting in heavy whipping cream or half-and-half for some of the milk to make it even creamier or upgrading your chocolate chips to nicer ones like ghirardelli.
